Gabrielle Denise Pina, Ph.D. is currently the Executive Director of the Women’s LeadHERship Institute and Director of Academic Communications and Public Relations at Virginia State University. Dr. Pina not only has over twenty years of experience in higher education but also is a sought after practitioner in the field of organizational leadership, inclusive leadership practices, social justice initiatives and DEI strategies.

She is the co-owner of Prism Consultants, a premiere executive leadership coaching and training firm that guides clients to cultivate inclusive cultures that foster constructive organizational and individual transformation. Dr. Pina is a poignant and masterful storyteller and via Random House, she has published two novels Bliss and Chasing Sophea. She has also written two biographies Bucking the Line, an authorized biography of the Clougherty family, the founders of the Farmer John brand, and A Mirror and A Prayer, an authorized biography about Gina Rivera, the founder of Phenix Salon Suites.

Her award winning play Letters from Zora: In Her Own Words has been touring for nearly a decade. Since then, she has written,  Dreaming of Harlem Under A High Southern Sky, Someone to Watch Ove Me, a riveting innovative work about the prolific life of Ella Fitzgerald, and Uncommon Revelations all of which have premiered at theaters across the country.
